This site is for Christians who want to know more about just how far-reaching their biblical faith and the Gospel of Jesus Christ really is. How practical and authoritative and comprehensive the Word of God really is. And how incomparably powerful and transformative and wise the precepts of Scripture really are.

More importantly, it is for Christians who want to DO SOMETHING with the knowledge they gain.

Salvation begins with individuals. But it doesn’t end with individuals. Salvation effects change in the heart, first. But then as it transforms the individual, it begins to effect change in the home. Then, over time, the inscrutable power of this Holy-Spirit-driven redemption begins to effect change in societies and organizations and institutions and even in governments, all of which are aggregations of individuals. The leaven of the kingdom of God spreads (Matt. 13:33).

Maybe you’ve heard of this thing called Christian Reconstruction. It’s been around since the 1960s when R.J. Rushdoony first coined the phrase. The late great Dr. Gary North co-authored and published a book in 1991 with his associate Gary DeMar, titled, Christian Reconstruction: What It Is, What It Isn’t. In it, they describe in-depth what that term really means and what the concept really entails (as opposed to what its critics and detractors say).

Some have described it as a movement. It certainly had its “founding fathers” in Rushdoony and North. But these men were writers and lecturers and publishers, not activists. So it was more of a school of thought than a “movement.” A profoundly insightful theological construct built on historic Christian perspectives that had formed across multiple ecclesiastical traditions over the centuries — some over the millennia. These men did not invent new doctrines. They merely connected the dots that others had drawn.

Here is how I describe it:

Christian Reconstruction is about covenant-keepers fulfilling the mandate of our Lord by patiently advancing and building the kingdom of God on earth (the civilization of God, as Dr. North describes it) through obedience to the indwelling guidance of the Holy Spirit working through them as they faithfully evangelize the nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and prudently apply God’s law and biblical Christian principles to every sphere of life in a post-ascension, pre-second-advent, New Testament world.

Easier said than done!

For the theologians and philosophers among us, it is a blend of Calvinist-Protestant-Reformed doctrine, postmillennial eschatology, theonomic ethics and presuppositional (Van Tillian) apologetics.

That really does put this unique biblical perspective OUTSIDE the mainstream, doesn’t it?
